PS2 controller as a mouse?

Could I use a PS2 controller as a mouse?
I have searched for this already but have had no evidence that it works.
I have bought the controller with the keyboard built in and am tempted to buy the ps2 to usb converter. But will it work as a mouse? and are drivers available?

I wrote an amp to use a PC xbox style controller, if you can get your ps2 to fit the usb on your pc, and get a driver (if needed?) so that windows can see it (control panel, joystick,test) then it will work with what I wrote. (and prbably all others)
