The delay event command is empty? What plugin are you using for that?
Oops. Forgot to mention that you need the User Event plug-in.
You can get it here on the plug-ins page http://www.promixis.com/downloads.ph...er&lucCode=800
Once you download it and enable it, go to the "Delay Event" command and choose the User Event plug-in. Go into the settings and check the "delay this event" box and enter the amount of time you'd like for it to listen for speech commands, and type "disable girderspeech" (without quotes) in the Event String box at the top. Then go to the "Speech Disable" command and in the drop-down box next to the "Learn Event" select "User Event" and type "disable girderspeech" (again, w/out quotes). You don't have to use "disable girderspeech", just as long as it matches whatever you typed in the Event String of the User Event plug-in, hence the name.
There are other ways to make a delay between commands but the others that I tried would cause the speech plug-in to pause during the delay, defeating the purpose for the delay in the first place.
That's perfect! Exactly what I was looking for.
Here's the end result, when user speaks the word "Hal", the following occurs:
Delay event begins set for 5 seconds
The Voice Commands group goes enabled
Volume gets muted
OSD pops up that says "Listening..." 5 second timeout
If no command is said that matches Voice Commands, volume returns, OSD disappears, and Voice Commands goes back inactive.
Attached is the GML...
Glad I could be of help, Wolfebaine. I'll have to try that gml of yours.
Is there anyone here that's using Girder for voice control that also uses standby/hibernate on their carpc? I only ask because one of the problems with Navivoice (it may have just been the SAPI) was that it didn't survive hibernation. I had a batch file set to run on resume that would kill the program and restart it to get it working again, which was kinda clunky.
Just curious if anyone has tested this. I'd do it myself but I'm at work at the moment and the question just came to me.
Sounds like you realy having it comming along there. I will install this too and see if i can get it working. I just bought a wireless mic which I hope to plug into my sound card and see if i can get the car learning commands so i can stand outside the car and make it play music and so on.. The cool factor is definately there to be able to speak a command and then the car does it.
this is definatly what i am looking for! would you be able to do a shutdown by voice command? EG command shut down and it will start shutting down
Ummmm... NaviVoice actually goes out of hibernation properly. You must be thinking of BSR or Centrafuse :rolleyes:Quote:

Just picked up a Plantronics Explorer 510 BT headset today. I highly recommend it for Voice recognition so far. It also as autoswitching available so i can seamlessly switch between my car and phone (as soon as i get the phone)...
