    Rotatable monitor possible?

Is it possible to configure/hack a touchscreen monitor such that it can be rotated 90 degrees? Examples are PDA screens that have adjustable orientations depending on user need.

I want to be able to use more vertical screen space for GPS orientation when driving, then change the monitor back for other uses. I want to get an 8" diag monitor based on cost, rather than a 10".

i'm not sure why you would want to change back and forth, but yes you can. the video card must be capable of this.

Yes, sorry--I had several distractions happen all at once.

I am running a Mac ibook on OSX, BUT I also run Windows XP under Virtual PC, so any software for either OS could be used.

    Thanks.

I guess you'll be using that, since OSX doesn't have any good GSP programs.

BTW: There are probably some free utilities that do the same thing.
Another program that comes to mind: powerstrip, but its not free.

I did a little more research--the Mac OSX has a semi-hidden control that will rotate the screen, though it may not always work well.
