re-programming the panic button on the car key

Like in the title> does anyone have an idea how to re-program the panic button on the car key.
The idea here is to find the reciever and link it to the carputer. This would allow to turn the computer on pressing the panic button on your key.

You could turn your car pc on while you are walking towards it and cut on the booting wait.
Any inputs as to how to do it would be greatly appreciate.
    Btw, I have a VW 2001 1.8t jetta.

how about getting a digital combination lock IC and set it up so two 'pulses' will toggle a relay. wire it up to your door lock mechanism and when you hit unlock twice on the remote it'll turn on your computer.

I would rather use something disconnected from the doors because not every time Ii need to open the doors I will need the computer on.
If for example I just have to grab something from the car, I wont want to start the pc at the same time.

Don't you think you might regret it when you are standing there wishing the panic function still worked?

ok....then set it for 3 presses...

if you tell me that 3 presses does something then i'm gonna come back and tell you to set it up so you need to hit lock then unlock. so stop being difficult!
