I'd love to see that. I was thinking of doing the same but couldn't find anything that'd work (that was cheap enough - see below). I ended up buying one of those eraser mice setups from MECI. Haven't installed it yet though. And also, it's a serial mouse, it just comes with the serial-PS2 adapter - but it still has the DB9 connector(s) in the middle of the cord because of it...

At one point I did find the company that made the thing, and they do have a USB version, but new ones direct from the company are like $150. They also have an eraser mouse without buttons (what I was talking about above that was too expensive) that had the eraser and a board about the size of a dime that probably could have been molded into a shifter, but was also like $150. Too rich for my taste...

That's a joystick with all sorts of controls that can be mapped to do anything. If your car is outfitted with machine guns and SAMs, all the better!

Then there's this, which is a trackball integrated into a shifter: Mouse built into shifter

That's crazy don't want anything like this I like stealth miniture design that looks almost like stock.

Yeah. Those are cool in their own way, but certainly not stealthy at all.
What I remember was a white shifter knob that looked aftermarket. It had a blue trackpoint sticking out of the top of it. I don't remember button locations, though.
