you sould definatly (if its within the power ratings...) pull both the +12v for the screen and possibly the +5v from the PSU becasue this is a safely regulated voltage. The car's voltage can range from 10v to over 14v and this can royally fry your screen if it cannot handle it....

but make sure you dont exceed the ratings on the m2 because then that could fry....

if you are worried about voltage regulation, you can always buy a stand alone +12v voltage regulator.
