What do you want?
- control carputer with steering wheel controls
- display track, etc. info on factory head unit
How about link to the adapter in question? What year is your Mazda?
I own a Mazda6 and was looking to integrate a carPC into the factory radio. I was going to go the easy way out and use the 1/8th headphone jack, but my nerdyness has gotten the best of me. While browsing the available adapters oe inparcticular caught my eye. It also has an ipod input that displays the track, title, and time as well as allowing the ipod to be fully controlled by the factory buttons and more importantly my steering wheel. Does anyone know how to hack this cable so that i can do what i want? Thanks for any help.

I want to do them both, with the following part:
AUXMOD
Sound will probably be possible. Control of the computer will be more difficult.Originally Posted by Xlr8tt
You will have to find/develope software that can translate the messages from the stereo to the now non existant IPOD to control the carputer. I believe that the IPOD is controlled with basic serial communications, so it shouldn't be too hard.
Check out girdir for the software.

Check with www.logjamelectronics.com They may have the same unit or something comparable. I dealt with them a year or so ago when I got my Blitzsafe CD changer adapter for my iPod. A friend of mine just got an iPod interface for his 2005 Camry that works well. They know what they're talking about over there.
Oh, and they're located in Indiana which is close than Taiwan![]()
I have actually come across something more intresting. This ebay part has a USB port for a drive of somesort. Does anyone think it could be hacked?
