Thread: any gamepads similar to snes controller?

This guy takes original gamepads (including Super NES pads), rips out the original cabling, and adds in custom USB wiring. So in the case of what you want, its a SNES cable that plugs directly into a USB port. I've ordered several pads from this guy in the past and they are all brilliant. They work flawlessly.

That reminds me, there's a thread here somewhere of a guy looking for a gamepad that looks like an old video game controller. You should show the link to him. Do you guys remember those controllers?

It's been my experience that PC gamepads don't hold up under pressure compared to their console counterparts. I was in the same boat back in highschool. What I used was the Gravis Gamepad Pro usb back in 2001 and it worked well for playing any game in SNES9X, so I bought one for my niece to play 2 player games like Top Gear. But under repeated Shoryuken use in Street Fighter II and other similar moves, the bottom to right portion of the D-pad gave out after maybe 6 months.

What I eventually replaced it with was a PSX to USB adapter from Radio Shack that I picked up for $11. With this route, you can replace the controller with no messing around, should it wear out. Plus, PS1 and PS2 controllers are in great supply and are quite hearty. I use a DualShock2 for SNES9X now and can pull off the super special moves in Gundam Wing Endless Waltz (2 hadouken motions in the time you do a hadouken in SFII) effortlessly with it, even after using the same controller for 6 years straight.

Plus, we all know that the DualShock is rooted to the SNES controller

No, I'm getting seriously tired of you guys. What I need is a computer controller that looks like a SNES controller but functions the same way. Ever heard of these things? I know they exist!

They're selling the USB Adapters for the console controllers. Nothing beats the original feel.
