Poll: Who would pay to upgrade their Xenarc 700TSV to transflective?

I'm just guessing on the price and I have no idea who the supplier would be. All I know is that i'm sick of the glare to no end, and want to do something about this. I have a custom mount for the Xenarc, and want the auto-on based on another source becoming active (backup cam) so that's why I'm not considering another display. In approaching anyone to do this, I want to say, upfront, "I have X displays that need this"...that's why I'm doing this poll now.

Expensive? Yes. Worth actually having a screen to look at in any kind of light? IMHO - yes.

    Thanks,
    Per

there is a big difference between voting that you would pay that and actually doing it :-) i'd be suprised if 20% of the people that vote yes would actually follow through.

I vote yes, and yes I will follow through. I actually got a quote from FPD for the transreflective screens. Total cost would be about $650.00 per screen. That is with a T-View screen. The upgrade it self costs a total of $450.00 aprox.
I allready have my screen so cost to me is only $450.00. Well worth it if you ask me.

scott fx - great point ;-) ..will need to tackle that next, i guess.

thunderstick - what is a T-view screen? And are you saying that if you own a 700TSV, it would cost $450 to upgrade?

"group buys" are not allowed here, & heavily enforced.... the mp3car store choose to do this with the lilli's initially because they cost a bit less, & use the same lcd panel, on top of the fact that the lilli's are easier to modify because of the ribbon & board layout... BUT..

the xenarcs are usually regarded as the better screen, & this is because the controller is a bit better among other reasons, & the xenarc has a much better chance of locking on to the true native resolution of 800X480... the lilli's biggest drawback as far as I'm concerned....

maybe eventually ziplock will do a batch of xenarcs... I think he should... but expect them to be even a bit more expensive than the current lilli's...
