The "flowering" (a term I've borrowed from old CRT tech) is that the CCD gets flooded somehow. Something that happens surpricingly easy.

About the rounded left edge; it seems like the CCD is not placed 100% in the center.

Also the LED's that will help when its really dark in short distance seems to give a "corona".

Bottom line: This CCD is much better than the CMOS I first bought, but there might be even better around.

This night pic looks amazing. The pavement looks so bright...doesnt look like night at all. I dont suppose you know what camera and lux rating it has? Low light with my CMOS camera sucks.

When do you get this flowering problem? when its really bright out? does this happend randomly?

I do not know what lux its got. But I know that the figure is a bit missleading, as it often is set to zero due to the LED's that light up the area in close proximity to camera.

I am impressed with quality in the dark too. It will loose colours, but much later than with CMOS, and sensitivity as well as resolution is better. In fact I would like to be able to turn the LED's off, as they give a bright spot in the center and gives "light polution" in the glass. I find the sensitivity of the camera being good enough without it.

Flowering is not random. Only in bright light. It starts as vertical lines as on pic. If light increases the lines will widening until it covers entire screen.

I am finally happy with the installation of the camera!

I've tilted the camera down. I want to see more floor than heaven.

I shortened the adapter ring a bit though, it still sticks out quite a bit.

I do not want rust, so I glued the ring to the sheet metal with epoxy, and then I painted it with car paint stick. It is an advantage to have a black car sometimes.

If you use an exterior License plate mount or so, where do you run the wires through the tailgate/trunk to the interior?

i bought myself one of those ebay one from the same seller bes recomended, absolutely love it! Looks great in the dark, it was a bit big for my keyhole, so i had to drill a bigger hole.

It is really great in the dark, isn't it Punky.
