DVR seems nice... To expensive for me. I went to eBay and just bought this
the dvr was a cheaper option for me at the time when i didn't have a carpc. if and when i have a running carpc in the car 24/7, i plan to go that usb route as well. i'm thinking of getting a 4 channel one.

I want to add a rearcam but I'm not gonna bother if I can't get the autoswitching to work.
my unlucky Lilliput doesn't seem to have that selection in the secret menu. either way, my back-up cam isn't wired to the back-up light but to a ignition switched fuse so it's always on when i'm driving. that's why i needed the lower control buttons of the screen exposed in my install.

(Not knowing what the problem is with the Lilliput)

Maybe you should have a look at my powercontrol kit. My CID 650 LCD panel has a control signal input for selecting AV2 as input. Problem is to get back to VGA afterwards if it was not active when camera was selected. Major problem when the panel is fitted into the dash without the buttons as I have done.

I want it to be totaly automatic. I solved this by enabling VGA for a few seconds before activating AV2, and holding on to VGA 2s after deactivating AV2. Things that can be done with CPU only.

Beautiful! It never rains in the apple anyway, does it :-)

I like the mount, even though the camera was a bit on the pricy side. Do you have any screen shoots? I have got my composite to USB adapter now so there will soon be pictures from my device.

the video is running into video 1 of my touchscreen so i can't save a screenshot. i plan on getting a usb adapter 4 channel dvr to also hook up my dashcam later.

i have been through 3 "cheaper" back-up cameras. you get what you pay for. as a general rule, ccd chips fare better than cmos. low lux is important. lots of cameras can compensate by using ir leds but quality varies. bascially, get a camera you can afford to replace or at least return it without hassle.

I've been looking for a OEM Toyota camera to use, no luck yet finding one. I like how it preforms on my Pruis.

I saw this the other day and thought it might be interesting. A little pricey, but might be worth it if it looks good.

it looks like a good quality one by a respectable manufacturer. i like the image distortion compensation feature. the lux rating is not that low though. good enough during the day but might be an issue at night even with the reverse lights.

That's the only thing keeping me from picking one up. I might do it anyways.
