It does look very similar. But the one I have has a tiny box about 4 inches up the cord, my guess it to hold some of the electronics to make the camera head smaller.
I have ordered over six cameras for various projects from Supercircuits, they are always good. They are also local to me, so I get them the next day.

This may be off-topic, but has anyone here tried the Sanyo CCA-BC200 rear-view camera?

The main feature is that it has a box that takes the video coming from the wide-angle CCD camera, and perform processing to rid of the geometric distortions (so you get a undistorted wide angle image). It also has an AirCam mode that simulates a top-down view. There are also multi-camera systems for large vehicles for an all-around view (similar to the Nissan / Infinity system).

    AirCam surround view: http://www.mito-oem.com/product.php?id=aircam
Nissan / Infinity's around view system:

Part of me thinks this can be done in software in real time. Does such program exist?

How is the image at night?

The Sanyo looks very nice, but way beyond what I'm willing to pay. Fisheye view will be fine for now. I have to imagine that all rearview cameras will eventually have distortion compensation, but I'll wait for those prices to come down.

Very good. That image is at dawn so not very bright. I will take a night image tomorrow night.

    This is my install:

    Zoooo, een Cam ge´nstaleerd.
    (Installed a Cam)

    zie je hem?
    (Can you see it?)

Hier onder nog een aantal foto's van 'how to'.
(down here, for more pic's 'how to')

klep omhoog (ff kijken of hij recht stond).. na dat ik de foto had gemaakt, heb ik hem nog iets gedraaid.
(trunk down, after this photoshot, i turned the cam a little bit straight)

    klep omlaag
    (trunk up)

Waarschijnlijk moet hij nog iets schuiner staan, zodat ik ook nog een beetje het 'verkeer' achter mij kan zien.
(As far as i can see now, it looks like i have to mount the cam a little bit up wards so i can see a little bit of traffic/cars/three's behind me)

I just bought the one off ebay that fixerofallthing referenced.

Does anyone know if it hurts the camera to have it powered all the time, not just on reverse?
