Bytecc BT-200 USB 2.0 to IDE Adapter power?

Mp3Car's online store offers a product called Bytecc BT-200 USB 2.0 to IDE Adapter which looks perfect for the application I intend to use it for. I am looking to put my internal (IDE/ATAPI) CD-Rom drive in-dash and run the usb cable into the trunk where the computer is going to be. The usb/ide adapter comes with a power adapter and cord, but is meant to be used in a regular power outlet. Does anyone know how this could be adapted to the cars power without the use of a power inverter? Or is there a better way of doing what I want?

I think the better solution would be to use a POL PSU that's located somewhere near the drive or run power from a molex connector to the drive from your PSU. The latter option might require heavier-guage wire, though, as there would likely be power loss due to resistance across that long a run.
