1) Probably not, but the TS controller is seperate and soldered onto these SP-7xx models.
2) Yes it is... it's a standard 7" TS w/ USB controller.. same one can be had here: http://digitalww.com/7TSK.htm
3) No idea.. but I have the non-motorized SP.
Hi all,
I have a SP-716 that actually works great, or did for a year or so unitl a few days ago. My touchscreen quit working, but monitor, motors/gears all work fine. I've been pretty happy with the unit.
So I have 3 questions:
1) Has anyone taken these apart and is there possibly a fuse or something inside that would kill only the touchscreen portion?
2) Is the touchscreen "guts" replaceable?
3) Has anyone had thier touchscreen monitors repaired? If so, any recomendations for (or warnings about) specific US repair centers?
I think I'd rather put $100 in this monitor than $400 - $500 for a new one. The transreflective ones are tempting, but I can't justify it when I'm trying to buy a house...
