    Man.. oh well.

I need a volume knob so I can get started on the second version of my dash piece. Just ordered one one second ago, hopefully it will either work or having one integrated into my dash will force me to make it work.

I installed the drivers supplied by mp3car.com and tried to use the demo program and it doesn't work. Removed/reinstalled several times.

My device's serial number doesn't show up on the list. Any ideas?

Try the drivers from FTDIChip... First choose the USB Serial Converter... Worked with me :-)

I bought the MP3Car dev kit for this device and thanks to the work of others (particularly RickS and armstrom: thank you!) have been able to get it working on my desk. But I was wondering if anyone had any information on the scene files (.pr1) that load profiles with anything other than balance control and volume control? Looking at the Immersion website it seems they want big money for the Immersion Studio application that I assume is needed to create custom scene files. Is there anyone who can comment on the file format and contents of the .pr1 files? Or are the registers documented anywhere in sufficient detail that scenes for specific applications like menu browsing, etc can be created without having to load a file?

Ok, I can't promise anything for definite, but I have in my possession a semi completed code for the PR1000, which enables it to talk to RR. The guy who is coding this (not me I must add) is away on business for another month, but assures me the answer to the problem lies in Visual Studio.

I also have the Immersion TouchSense SDK software - bought from Immersion for around $250.00, not thousands. I convinced them it was for non commercial private use and got a deal. Then problem is the SDK is not a panecea. Yes you can play around in the program and load and customise the profiles indefinitely, but the software does not 'talk' to any other area of windows programs. Code is needed, and hopefullt nearing completion, for this. Once it's cracked then the world will go haptic crazy, be assured

a few pics of the device in it's intended place (instead of the ashtray), and the console install present state.

It's been so long since I've looked at this that I don't remember for sure but I thought MP3Car sent a way to create the profiles (like a light version of Immersion Studio or something). I'll try to dig through my stuff and find it but it'll probably be a while since I'm getting ready to go on vacation for a couple weeks. I still want to get this integrated in my setup but never got past converting armstrom's code (he did all the hard work)...just too many other competing priorities.

Has anyone yet verified that the standard FTDI drivers work on a Mac? And if so which OS Version (Apple -> About -> 10.?.?)?

    Thanks.

And thanks to those who made this project =)
