I'm not entirely sure why I've not seen this before. it's only $120 in the mp3car store. I may have to pick up one of them.....
OLD POST DIGGING.
Is there any advancement on this at all taking place or is it a dead issue?
It looks to me like everyone agrees that it is the way to go, but no one has really perfected it (or at least not made knowledge of doing so public). Is the encoder itself glitchy (I seem to have understood that from a few posts) or is it just "too much" to do it all. There has been a lot of progress talked about, so how's about we get back on this one and ride it until we have something?
I cannot do any coding myself, but my tech would be able to. I just want to give him as much a head start as possible, to avoid delays and frustrations.
If the unit itself is not faulty or glitchy, it will be what I use, and I will have to buy two of them for different functions.
SO - what's the latest word, everyone?
Electronics work on magic smoke - don't let it out.
Bumping this one back up. Any progress from any corners or is it now another dead project?
I has this unit up and running in vb6 against my own custom frontend a few years ago but never got around to install it in the car so I never went any further with it.
The unit worked just fine for my usage, no glitches experienced at all.
I've been planning to write a plugin for it in OpenMobile but I don't have any timeframe for it as of now.
Failure is not an option...

What are you using yours for if not in your car?

I am beginning to think I ought to just buy a couple and work out the programming later.

Programming is pretty straight forward.
As earlier stated support for this unit is also planned for OpenMobile.
