I'm not aware of software that lets you use the iphone as a phone over your computer.
There are some options, however. If you want to jailbreak your phone, you can install ScreenSplitr and Veency and control it using your Safari browser.
Ok, I've been looking around and am thick headed or just generally confused. Obviously there isn't any software controlling the iPhone over Bluetooth and that's fine. It seems like the oS 3.0 should make things a little easier for that. My question is, if I don't mind plugging the iPhone in via USB, is there a software that will allow me to make calls etc over the computer it's plugged into? Generally speaking, I have to plug the iPhone in anyway to charge it. Seems like I always forget to do that at home until it's on it's last little bit of battery life. So, is the problem with software a bluetooth issue or is there something I can do over USB? Forgive me if this has been covered but, like I said, for some reason this whole thing has me confused. It's just eluding me a bit.![]()

But still... One cannot controll the iPhone directly from the FrontEnd system..
This is why I'm scrapping the original plans for including my iPhone in the CarPC, and just use an older SE phone I have laying around as a 3G/GSM/SMS modem and as my integrated car phone.
The down side with this.. Is that I cannot theater the iPhones wifi and need a wifi box.. but that's easier than trying to mount up the iPhone as an integrated car phone.
