Well it has been a while since i have been to these forums. I use to be a regular when I had a car pc. I have since sold out and gone the Iphone/headunit route.

I just bought a new head unit. The Pioneer AVIC-X920BT. It has iphone/ipod support along with Pandora. Nice unit.

Anyway, here is my problem/question for the experts here. I would like to connect both an Ipod and my iphone to the unit and use a "switch" to determine what is actually connected. My thought here is that my ipod is always in the car and my iphone will be going in and out.

My music is recorded in a lossless format so I can't fit everything on my iphone which is why I want to use an ipod as well. But I don't want to keep unplugging and plugging in the devices.

So my thought is to have 2 docking stations connected to some type of switch and then have the switch connected to the head unit. Then I could just press one button to change the source ipod. Problem is that I don't think such a switch exists.

The only thing close is a KVM switch that has USB and audio:

But since it is bus powered I am not sure how it will effect the head unit.

So if anyone has any ideas, please let me know.
