UMPC / Laptop Wake On Plugging in Power?

I want to have a power scheme that puts the thing to sleep when the power plug shuts off (my car's cig. lighter shuts off when the key is removed).

Then when the key is turned on, it'd be great if the UMPC could wake from standby.

Is this possible with just software?

Sorry for the n00b question. I'm way old-school here so please cut me some slack . I've been away from this hobby a long time but I just got a new Samsung Q1 for my leased car and don't know anything about carputers that have batteries.

That software would be the BIOS, as Windoze (or any other OS) doesn't have that low-level control over hardware.

Some BIOSes will support boot on power. Some don't.

With the right power supply, however, you can achieve this, but I'm sure you know this.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?

Under normal circumstances, a signature would go here.
