    Laptop Motherboard Defaulting to VGA Out

    Hey guys, I just wanted to ask. How would I go about making a laptop motherboard default to VGA Out rather than the LCD screen? I have a Dell Dimension laptop with a busted LCD, but I want to use the motherboard to install in my car as an MP3 player. Is there a jumper I could set or perhaps it will just display on the screen once I disconnect the LCD from it? If anyone can give me some links on this topic I would appreciate it =3.

    just do the function x key... replace x with whatever button has the little display logo on it or says crt or something.

    IIRC on my Dell it doesn't rememer to leave the VGA port enabled by default on each startup. The OP might want to mount the laptop somewhere hidden/out of reach.

    On all the dells I've had.. if you connect the vga cable before you power the laptop on it defaults to it, so you will be fine

    This is the same on the Gateway and Acer lappies that I've used as well.

    most also have a setting in the BIOS that will force the display to external.
    MY NEWEST INSTALL:modded infiniti fx with big screen

    first windows carpc install........my liquid cooled LVDS screen :D
