How do the laptop speakers get wired for sound using the car speakers?

I plan on using the laptop battery for power.
I assume the 350Z folks would put a laptop in the glove box.
(I know how to build pcs but I’ too chicken to use anything but a laptop)

Doh, I guess common since should have told me that. I saw somewhere it said "2 RCA video inputs, L/R Audio Input". Maybe I didn't read the page right.

I don't know where else I could put it besides the glove box. I don't want to use the trunk because I use that for groceries, etc. Oh yeah, I'm on a budget so I want to use the work laptop. This means I can't take it apart.

I'll tear apart a pc any day but I'm just scared to mess with the car wires as far as the battery goes. I guess I could always get a cousin to help me. I'm female by the way. I wonder how many female have car pcs?

I'm using my work laptop so I can't take it apart. I'm on a budget and can't buy a laptop at the moment.

I heard there is a law in some states in which the driver is not supposed to be able to view a dvd player monitor. Is this true?
Understand that a laptop install has more hurdles to overcome than a "desktop" install.
Do not expect the install to be clean and smooth functioning, simnply because of those hurdles. There are workarounds, sure, but most of them involve cracking the laptop case open and doing some soldering... I wouldn't advise doing that with a work laptop.
Here's a question. How do you intend to turn the laptop on & off each time you want to take a trip?

It's not that hard. Pay attention to what you're doing and learn about what you're doing, and it's really not all that difficult. this is my first major reqiring project in my truck (still making payments, you know!) and by learning (sometimes from other peoples' mistakes), it has worked out well.

If you are afraid to void your warranty then use an old PC you don't really care about. If you want to use a lilliput In-dash you'll be taking it apart anyway most likely. Running wires through the car is fairly easy, and you shouldn't have to hook anything directly to the car battery. How were you going to power your lilliput?
This isn't really that hard, it just requires LOTS of planning.

I was wondering if it would void my car warranty? I'll just take it one day at a time. Thx for the info guys!
I figured that the lilliput could be powered by the same thing that Nissan uses to power their optional navagation system. I don't know what power Nissan's optional navagation system. I don't even know what cables I would need. Here is another question, what about running the wires? How the H do you get the wires from the dash to the glove box? I have a Z so the glove box is behind the passenger seat. It will be a while before I do this so I'll just have to do a lot of planning.
Under the seats, under the door trim, under the upholstry. Pretty much where you can get it, and get it to look nice. The lilliput comes with a power supply, but it is not recommended. You can't plug the screen directly into the car, because the voltage flucuates, you have to use a regulating power supply. Look in the MP3car.com store.

I have a 2006 350z and I am running a laptop with the factory radio. I bought radio harness plugs that plug into the radio and the one that go to the factory plug in the car. (Basically both sides of the connectors) I wired the cables together and the pulled power from that harness to the monitor. I did to make sure I did not void any warranty. I think I paid $20 total for the cables harness. (Make sure to wire a fuse from the power to the monitor. I believe you wont void any warranty as long as you dont cut any factory wiring. (Technically they have to prove that something you did or the installed component damaged the part in question.) Initally I ran wiring to a cigarette ligher plug and connected to the cigarette/power port.
For my dell laptop I used an dc to dc power adaptor for my model laptop. To power the laptop on I got a port replicator that has a power button on that. $15 bucks on ebay. And then soldered the wires to that power button to a button on the dash. I use a momentary switch. Pretty cool too if you need to turn off the pc and its locked up and just hold down the momentary switch.
The wiring can be easily run from the laptop to the front by going unther the side of the center console(between the middle of the seats.) The whole console can be removed with 4 screws if needed.
The laptop was installed behind the drivers seat pocket where the bose speaker would go. I dont have a bose system. The plastic cover comes off easily. Pops right out.
If your on a tight budget - (use one of those fm modulators to play the music to the radio speakers from the laptop)
