mmmmm maybe RR
the regulator is having a bulit in fuse
should i put an external fuse
if so .... tell me where to put them ??
Thnx Dude !!
You should put a fuse at the main battery junction, and probably another one at your regulator and another for the touch screen....
that fuse only protects the regulator itself
yes, an in-line fuse is required within a few inches of the power source. this is to protect the power wire from staring a fire due to a short circuit or drawing too much current. the fuse cannot exceed the ampacity for whatever wire gauge you use. this site has some good info on wire guage, ampacity, and fuse ratings.
you must put a fuse at the beginning of any power wire, and anytime you reduce wire gauge or split into two or more smaller wires (unless the smaller gauge wire can handle the current that the main power fuse is rated for).
remember, its always ok to downsize a fuse, but NEVER go higher than the wire can handle.
Does the screen you are using have a feature that automatically switches the video input to the composite input when voltage is applied? If so you are missing the auto part of your automatic reverse camera diagram. Generally you can pull 12v+ off of the reverse lights to accomplish this....but only if you want it to switch over every time you put it in reverse. You could also throw in a toggle between the reverse lights and the screen to disable that feature.
