And before anyone starts flaming i dont care if it was overpriced, i have based this decision of what would suite me best, and FYI i drive a Ford Focus ST 2.5 pushing close to 230Kw, with a rockford fosgate system that cost about R30 000 and no i didnt drive in and have a factory/dealer install done, i bought the componenets and did the install myself. As far as pc knowlegde goes i think i am pretty much up there as i am an I.T manager.

And no i dont normally run around gloating about what systems cost me or what i drive or try and impress people but when someones that doesnt know me one bit passes comments about rich ricers then i see the need to state the facts.

The Dell Studio Hybrid is actually a good system. The only issue you may have is powering it because of Dell modding the power brick. I was going to link you to the thread but I see you already found it. Just in case anyone else is interested, here it is. http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/gene...e-12v-24v.html. As far as audio, I tried to go cheap and just leave the stock speakers and use small amps. Well now I'm not happy with it and have to install all new everything I decided to go with Alpine though because they have the PDX series, which is stackable. Also going with their speakers for consistency.

Thanks, as far as the power brick from dell goes i was the one that did the hack and posted, the hack is pretty simple and takes about 10 mins of soldering etc to remove the ID chip from the dell power brick and hookup to the P1900. With that being done all works 100% the hyrbid thinks its connected to a dell power brick. Like someone said in that topic why do companies bother with all the extra preventative measures when someone will always find a way to bypass or hack it to work the way they see fit.

Exactly.... so Dell is literally loosing money trying to make things hard for people because their going to do it anyways, lol
