Sounds like you perhaps got solder somewhere that solder shouldn't be, and shorted something out? Either way, the fast clicking noise is very not good, and you likely ruined it. Your best bet may be to unsolder your wires and clean it up as best you can to see if it still works.

i did that. took off the wires and unsoldered around it. took the clicking away and i got it to work after it. Not sure what the clicking was but it might have been the power button rapidly pressing itself? Thanks for the help. Because of the clicking, I had given up...

possibly, in your laptop's bios, there is a setting to restore power on a/c loss... you would still have to shut down with the windows button but startup would be simply powering up the laptop

if you're lucky enough to have that option, also use ShutControl to automatically hibernate when a/c power lost.

If you're lucky you just shorted the 2 wires together. Try holding the power button down, plug it in, and see if you get the click click click again. At least you'll know what it was.

yeah i got it to work...ish. not it makes a buzzing sound whenever on. its not that bad, really annoying when on desk but not loud enough to where it will be heard over my exhaust anyways, let alone the speakers.
