Thread: Archos umpc

I’ve been thinking about my current carpc build recently. It’s dangerous to think too much as things change.
What I originally wanted was a computer that I could use indoors, check emails, surf the ‘net and then plug into my car and use it as a carpc. My original idea was the OQO V2 but unfortunately it appears the company has gone under. The idea meant as I was walking to the car I could start up the front end, get into the car, plug in display, external HDD and a usb device or two. Listen to my music or radio on the way to work. Unplug pc and take into work allowing me to use pc during breaks etc. OK, the OQO screen was a tad small but the idea was set. With the advent of the iPad, tech companies have been bringing out Android umpc and my ideas are beginning again. So I found this ARCHOS 9 which runs windows7 and is a fully functioning pc running an atom chip (Z515).
Is this capable of running a frontend, external HDD (for music), OBDII and maybe GPS or a recording video camera? Thoughts, concerns…
