    laptop power supply

I have an extra laptop power supply laying around and i was wondering if i could cut the plug end off and re-wire it in to my cars system to run my carpc? I would get a shutoff control to run in the middle of it. Would that work

    thanks

    It depends.

Is it a dc to dc adapter?

    Is your carpc a laptop?

Is your dc to dc adapter (if that is what you have) meant to power that laptop(if that is what you have)?

it is a normal laptop battery charger. as of now i do not even have a carpc but i am in the planning process and I am to the power supply part of my planning. My carpc will be based around the VIA EPIA M10000. now that you know this does it help anymore and would it be possible?

You are going to need to use something like the M1-ATX or Opus it will depend on the overall power needs of your design.

    It should help!

Laptop power supply is not appropriate for use with an Epia M10000. Most of them are 19 volts. Too much for the Epia plus they don't output the right types of power for the Epia.
