anyone?
Yeah I'm in the same boat. I haven't found any source.
I bought a docking station that came with a psu and will probably hardwire it, that is open it up and solder the connections permanently inside.
That'll leave me with a spare connector for the car.
You can get psus on ebay for relatively cheap.
Depends on the dell, some use a proprietary connector with a 3rd data pin that communicates whether or not it's an official adapter
Think you are in the same boat as me. I know someone actually sells replacements, but you still need a "official" psu for it to charge or work with a dock.

So is there no other option than buying a dock and soldering on the psu? I really would rather not have solder anything or have to buy a dock for no reason.
What if i just cut off the end of my OEM dell charge, and then crimp it onto the power wire of my psu?
Thanks
Could you clarify what you are trying to do? Are you trying to fix a dell ac adapter or are you trying to power it from something else like a Carnetix 1900?
If the answer is B, you are SOL from what I could find. That's why I'm running an inverter
Had the same problem with a Compaq Laptop. I couldnt find an exact match, but i did find something .05mm off
Best best is check out Mouser.com
G945GLCF2 | 512MB RAM | 160GB HD | Holux GPS w/ Routis | XMPCR w/ TOSLINK mod | Audigy 2 NX | | Xenarc 700TSV |Opus 150W PSU.
Mouser is a pretty good suggestion.. but, if he is trying to power his laptop off of anything outside of an official dell adapter and he has a model which has the chip in it, it won't charge the battery and it won't power a dock. Also will throw a BIOS error.
Dell sucks.
Yes, i do have a carnetix p1900. Theres a manufactorer of generic ac adaptors for my laptop on ebay, i think that means that i won't have to deal with the bios oem plug issue correct?

Also, since i'm in a hurry (road trip to vegas on wednesday) can i just cut off the end of my oem charger and use that?
Thanks
If you have the third pin, nothing works as far as replacements, not even the Lind ones. The laptop will power on, but it will not charge.
