can i rig a dc-dc powersupply to my laptop?

i have a dell notebook i was thinking about mounting in the trunk instead of building an itx system. would i be able to connect a dc-dc power supply to it so i would be able to direct wire it to my vehicle?

seams ideal to me, if itd work. would i also be able to run my monitor through this as well?

You definately need to read the FAQ's. That is a DC-DC PSU, but is an ATX standard. Sort of retarded for a laptop that wasn't built in the 1980's with a crt tube in it.

And yes it can power your monitor...

okay, i did 5 searches so far, and read through 20 pages of thread titles and couldnt find a single thing about what im trying to do here.. do i need to read through EVERY THREAD untill i find what i want to know, or would someone like to help me out? i know you guys are against answering questions and all, but id like to do this and do it right and need some info.
