    Cleartek II touchscreens?

Well, as I screw around with my backlight, got me thinking about the touchscreen issue.

Anyone have any experience with the 3M Cleartek II touchscreens?

On paper, sounds great, wondering if anyone has any experience with them?

91.5% light transmission is very darn good.
Would be nice if they have the size for us. Retail website also help.
I wonder if we can use the existing controller on the Lilliput/Xernac screen with the new panel (highly doub).

Well, for the 8" lilli, there is a size that's close enough, pretty sure you'd have to buy the controller. Digikey has it for $102 for the screen and the controller is another $78.

I have used the 10.4" and 15" models.

The 10.4" units I have are 5 wire ressitive. I use the generic USB controllers with them. No problems at all. I have a 10.4" NEC Transflective display going on sale Friday and they will have this touch screen.

The 15" I have is an 8 wire resistive. Absolutely top notch. I love this touch panel. I built 30 or so touch kiosk pc's back in Dec. and used this setup for the touch. Absolute perfection. The resolution is much better than the comparable ELO panel. Pin point accuracy.

3M does offer an 8.4" 4:3, but that is about it for car use.

Digikey is very over priced on their touch and LCD items.

    Yes very true.

10.4" NEC LCD panel with Transflective Enhancement
VGA input LCD controller kit with OSD board, backlight inverter, cables, etc
3m 5 wire cleartek II touch screen with USB touch controller
    DC-DC voltage regulator.
Just add a PC and a VGA cable.

I will have 3 units in stock ready to ship this Friday. I have all the parts in stock, and the LCD panels are on their way back to me from the enhancement providers. I will post a FS and have pictures then. As long as it is somewhat sunny here, I will set one up outside and take direct sunlight pictures too.

Special pricing for these 3 only: 599.99 plus shipping.

Fedex came a day early with the panels.
    FS post here: http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/vbcl...p?do=ad&id=270

This picture shows the LCD panel before enhancement, and the included VGA controller. THe touch kit is not shown.
