Interesting, do you have any pics you can post later?
i recently purchased a dynamix 816 widescreen from ebay and am anxiously waiting to start my carputer project. i have mostly everything i need mapped out cepti have to purchase my laptop autostart module and a decent head unit. then the fabrication begins. i have a question about this dynamix 816 screen that i couldnt find the answer to by searching. so no search police bashing please. im just asking for constructive answers
i believe it has the auto input switch for the vga input only. i believe it only comes with 1 vga port so if i get a vga splitter and connect my laptop and say my reverse cam, will it auto switch when the reverse cam goes on and will it auto switch back when the reverse cam goes off? how would it work or any screen with auto switch on input work with a vga splitter?

I have the 7 inch Dynamix monitor and what it does is auto power
on with the VGA ( when the computer comes on the monitor turns
on with the voltage from the VGA like a accessory lead on a amp)
It does auto switching to the camera if you hook up the power lead
(it has a wire that goes to the positive wire of your back up lights...
when the car is in reverse and the lights come on the monitor switches
to the camera from VGA and when the car is shifted out of reverse it reverts back to VGA). If you split the VGA I only see the Dynamix switching back and forth and your other monitor showing VGA only since it will be split
off from the computer before reaching the monitor......unless your monitor has a VGA out?
