yeah it does, I used to use a RCA connection to a cheapy monitor and it text looked bad. i hate to increase the size in windows to compensate.
probably the reason is you can get a non-VGA screen for under $100
Ok, I am lost here. I have personaly used VGA connections on my systems. I have tried using SVideo and RCA but to be honest, it looks like crap coming form a PC. (Hard to read text and misc info)
I still see others using it on their screens. Is there a reason for this? Am I missing something?

OK, so I am correct that VGA is still the best solution for all this?
dvi and lvds are better than vga, but vga is better than svideo and rca.

Do they have dvi screens that can fit in a car? (7" ish..)
Not sure, and I'm not going to search for you.
However, here is a DVI to TTL converter to drive an LCD from a DVI signal : http://news.thomasnet.com/fullstory/469492
Now you should be able to use any small TTL LCD (including 7" ones).
I am personally running an 8" screen from a LVDS signal, and the quality is very good, far better than I would get with VGA.
