Lilliput 729 plays all video very grainy.

I meant to write Lilliput 629

In short I installed my CarPC and played video on it for the first time and looks like its 16 colors or something. Even detailed pictures look grainy as well. Like when windows boots up it looks OK and everything seems to be OK with the monitor except when I play a dvd or load a video from youtube or try to view a highly detailed picture. I can't believe this is happening because I have about 100 hours into building my monitor indash. Only to figure out that videos look like they are 256 colors. I checked my screen resoltuion and its at 800x600 75 htz and 32 bit, but definitily doesn't look like that when I play video. I also took the monitor and plugged it into my desktop and its the same thing therefore ruling out the video card. Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated.

The 629 has a different touchscreen which causes the image displayed on the LCD to look grainy. I think the touchscreen reduces glare a bit more than a normal one, but still not sunlight readable at all.

If you aren't using the touchscreen and you still have a grainy image, ignore this, you got a problem....

I don't beileve its the touchscreen that I am having an issues with. I realize that makes it look not as clear, but its the actual pictures. Forinstance if I use a highly detailed wallpaper the colors are there but its grainy like if I were to open it in photoshop with say only 256 colors. I will try to take a picture. My entire pcb board is glued down so I can't even open the board and see if the wire is fastened to the lcd correctly in the back.

Well, I was just on it and took a screen shot and emailed it to myself. The screen shot on my desktop computer looks perfect but when I look at the screen shot of the video on my lilliput it looks really grainy with like halos over the light the colors just don't blend together. I was going to upload the screen shot but it would be of no use because it looks fine. I think I have to take a picture with my camera.

It wound up being the ribbon cable. I figured it was but prayed it wasn't. I had to rip apart my hotglued screen to get to it, but its all back together now. Thanks again for the help.
