lcd that actually fits a double din?

so ive been trying to find a double din touchscreen <=$300 without finding a great contender. basically id rather not fabricate the car and screen bezels together, i would rather just bolt the screen on. im trying to install this on an acura rsx-s, but i got the non-s head unit bezel so that i could have the double din.

does anyone know of any monitors that might work on a double din, think the measurements for a full double din are (100x180mm). my double din slot is ~7.5"x4.3".

also, ive tried checking out car toys with no avail, does anyone know of any other places where i can physically check some monitors out?

For under $300? Not a chance.
Either spend some bucks or fabricate.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?

You have a total of 1 option. The digitalww screen. It just bolts in. $650ish.

Other than that, you are screwed. You will need to fabricate just to be honest.

The problem comes with the screen size that fits a double din is 6.5". Standard small VGA sizes are 7" and 8". So there are very few 6.5" screens. And usually the screens you can find are just screens, no controller. So you need a controller for it, and that gets very costly.

Another option is the flipout screens, that take 1din and fold out either motorzied or not. Only problem is that they are crap.

I am sure once this hobby becomes more mainstream, there will be a bigger seelction, but until then you are stuck.

My suggestion is to get a spare dash on ebay for a couple dollars ($20-$30 usually if you find a deal) and modify that. Then you always have a spare, and it will actually look good if you spend time on it.

are you talking about the DWW-6500 Double Din LCD HeadUnit? also ive found that part on mp3car.com's store that is a doulbe din bezel that you can use to hook up monitors. im not about to spend $130 on a bezel, so does anyone know of another place that may carry this kind of bezel?

ok here it is, its supposedly only for the WRX, but i was wondering if anyone tried this on any other model car: http://www.digitalww.com/store/prodd...sp?prod=WRX001

It fits most double din cars, but it sticks out I think. So it is not flush/OEM. It is just to make it fit no mods.

And again, this is a hobby. $130 for a bezel is common. You cant find someone to do that work for you for less. So you could do it yourself, or you pay. That is the way this hobby works. G4 all put together is $2000. Same thing by yourself is under a grand. See how ease of installation beefs up the cost?

I have the Acura RSX as well and for an extra bezel, it's like 15 bucks here (http://www.cardomain.com/item/SCOAA1568B) This is what I used for my fabrication check it out on my thread (2006 Acura RSX project)

BTW, are you by chance on CRSX?
