You can buy any monitor you want and have it upgraded later.
I'm starting my carPC project and my first thing to do will be custom in-dash fabrication.
I have expierience building PC's, so I will leave that for the final part to put it all together.
Therefore, I need to pick screen first. I want to go with Lilliput for the following reasons:
1. It's cheap to buy used.
2. I can upgrade to sun-readable later without doing more fabrication work.
From what I understand mp3car store sells sunlight readable Liliput 629. What about other 7" Lilliputs? Can I take any of those and be able to fit panel later on? I would by just housings, but nobody has them in stock it seems.
I want something to begin with and if I like it and everything goes well - I will upgrade with transflective.
Which Lilliput should I get for that purpose? I don't care about on/off functions and so on. At this point I want to tackle fabrication and when my Car PC nice and does what I need - I will get nice screen (if I still have interest)
You can buy any monitor you want and have it upgraded later.
So, if I use housing from one 7" model to mold into my dash then I can install internals from other 7" model into same front piece? I just try to make sure I won't have to do fabrication again
This is specific one I'm looking at. This layout will alow me to place DVD above.
Can I place transflective 629 internals into that case?
