    Screen problem

Couldnt think of a good title so here's the problem...
I have the Lilliput 7" touchscreen, if I start my car after it sits for awhile, say overnight or between lunch and the drive home, the screen works fine, but if I turn off the car and go into a store and come back out the screen doesnt turn on but the touchscreen still works (no video). It use to work all the time just fine then I tried to split into the power wire to run my xm tuner off of. (could of been a bad idea). I'm stumped. Thanks for any help

so you split the power after the egg voltage regulator? Yeah bad idea. Undo that. Your XM unit should be built for the car, so it should take regular unregulated car voltage.

Are you sure your computer is outputting video? It could be a standby/hibernate issue. What type of system do you have? If it is a laptop, then it probably is gong back to the primary lcd. If not, then it could be you never intsalled a video driver. If you are sure there is a video signal going to the monitor, then your power splicing is the route of your problem. Why would you ever do that?! I dont think that would ever even cross my mind, its just a bad idea.

I have my screen running off the computer power supply (molex connector) I tapped in to it between the computer power supply and the screen, not at the screen itself. My screen works fine until I turn the car off and turn it back on after a couple minutes, but when it sits for awhile like over night or a hour or so the screen comes on and works. But the strange thing is the touch part works all the time even when the screen is black and not showing video, I can turn the volume up or down and pause by touching where the buttons should be.

So my XM I can just hook into my dist block?? or will that drain my battery?

    Thanks

    Matt
