Don't know what the native resolution is on the 8" screen, but it's 800x600 on the 10.4. I'm guessing it's the same, but 3 won't be able to say until I get the screen. Hopefully this next week. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Thanks wmpwi, 6 1/2 High should be just perfect. Could be that you mean 9 1/8 wide?

New to this so I think I will order the 8" and start working on how I am going to power my dual voltage HP e-pc42.

Nope. Rechecked. The 8 inches part refers to the diagonal like TVs. I have the same problem as you seem to in that there's little room to work without obstructing the climate controls. Eh, who needs air anyway.

I have to admit i wasn't too impressed by the guy on the other end.

But he said everything was going to be fine.

Just bought one of the 8 inchers from gooddeals by phone. They are low on stock at this moment. The sales guy kinda fidgeted when I asked about stock, but he came back in plain words; order it now, you got it. wait a few days and they might be dry.

Can someone post the display dimensions of the 10" screen without bezel ??? I'm guessing 8x6, but i need an exact horizontal dim.

If you click the image of the multi view pic on the greatdeals site, you should see, or at on my 18 monitor I see close to actual size image.

8.25x6.75 inches, using pythag theorem is 10.659 diag. OK, its still .3 inch too big. only 2.8% diff.
scaling the above dim down 2.8% gives me
8.017x6.56

x^2 + y^2 = z^2 (the diagonal dimension)
8.017^2 + 6.56^2 = calculating diag fom pythag yields 10.359, close enough

Now if someone dares measure up we will know for sure. 8.017x6.56 I estimate to be the actual screen dim of the 10"
