I ordered a 10.4" and an 8" to play with. The 10.4" is on sale now at 199.00, and the 8" is $169. Free shipping for over $200.00 still in effect.

I'm all for bashing a crappy company when need be, but I guess to balance things out I would need to praise the good ones once in a while. So far, I am impressed with the goodeals18 service and communcation. I'm not a one post n00b, nor a paid actor or celebrity.

I e-mailed sales Monday nite at about 6pm, asking if I placed an order Tues AM, would it be received by Friday cus it was important. About 20 min later, I got an e-mail with an assurance that they were in stock and would ship ASAP. (NY-NJ). Today they sent me an e-mail, mentioned a little delay with one of the screens (resolved), order will ship Thurs and I will have Fri. Nice to be kept in the loop.

We shall see what Friday's UPS guy brings, but so far things are looking good.

Screens came in today, as promised and delivered.

    I gotta say, nice screens!

Hooked them both up to the PC as soon as I got home. Setup went well (with the TS drivers from this thread). I didn't even bother with the CDROM that came with it.

Nice and bright, made my CRT monitor on my desk look grey. My current 7" LED panel (400 nits) is brighter, whites are whiter, colors are sharper. But it's not fair to compare CCFL to LED.

Text was easy to read at 800x600, obviously nicer on the 10.4". The instructions, written in Chinglish, show a picture of a different remote which has an Auto feature. The one that came with it don't. There is nothing in the OSD menu that offers up auto switching when another signal comes in, like a cam or something. It's probably capable, anyone het that to work?

Also, on the 8", does anyone's buttons light up? They look like they should...

For the money, you'd be hard pressed to find a better deal.

Took them apart. Would be easy to de-panelize them and rig them however you wanted. The 10.4" has wires running from the driving board to the LCD, not a ribbon cable (LVDS?). The 8" has a ribbon cable.

Also managed to find a datasheet on the 10.4". Mentions LVDS in it too.

hi i have a question i bought the 8" its working ok, im testing it on my current desktop but with 2 screens the calib isnt working... im sure it will be fine later? O_o its about 1" off and when i run the calib software clicking on the spots does nothing...

but my question is about the av cable that is in the usb connection, it has what looks like a power connection as well just like the vga cable now my question is this a 12v power connection? the manual does not state anything about the vga and usb power connection, im assuming its the same 12v input but do not want to screw things up... also how did they map the 12v on the vga cable? any risk of it screwing the mobo over?

    ----------- update ------

it works fine, i also tried the other software talked about in this thread and it works great, the 25 point calib is really good i think.

also i found out that the usb a/v cable does have video in1 which is the yellow cable and then the red one is video in 2, the white is mono audio in. Mine came labled but i tried it and its correct.

    65D
    15U

It's the up that really bugs me. To be able to use it where I was planning, I'll need to install it upside down, and then rotate my screen 180degrees in xpe.

    bummer.

update after taking apart, to start building into my dash.

Touchscreen is just laying in front of samsung screen, nothing other than lcd hold downs keep it in place. Resistive to usb controller, with passthrough wires from controller though main circuit board. It's amazing how they just took generic parts and made a touchscreen. (they even soldered to the back of the DC input to inverter board, as their connector must have been different.) Double sided tape holds everything in place. Touchscreen has a plastic 'protective film' that once removed, made viewing much better.

are you talking about the 10.4" or the 8"? cause the 8" looks like it has good enough viewing angles are good, the top one is 60ish IMO and the bottom seems to be maybe 45, the sides are really good over 80 i would say (im looking right from center and going to the directions)

the shipping took some 5 days but its the this time of year and cant expect anything better then that i would have assumed that on normal time of year it would be 3 days

I got mine yesterday and have a few problems/concerns/questions....

I see that there is no 12V Cigarette Adapter, just the wall charger...

I Have a slight 1" diameter darkish spot on the lower right of the screen. Its only really noticeable when something dark is displayed...I have been offered a partial refund or to send it back at my expense and once they receive it they will ship out a new one. Anyone else have some of these "hotspots"?

and last...When I use 800x600 resolution at 60hz i get slight wavy lines across the screen....not horrible but it drives me crazy...anyone else's do that...i tried 75 and 85 hz but it just got worse...

Its the 8" Model...do you guys think its defective and I should send it back?

I'll try to take some pics tonight to try and show that "hotspot"

i have the 8" and i think the cheap vga cable that they give you is no good, you want a good shielded one, my 25' one was displaying better then that short cheap one, make sure it has that filter stuff as well.

The cheap cable gave me the waves on the screen, as far as hot spot i have no idea mine seems fine, you cant expect LCD to be perfect as far as lighting goes at high angles but if this is normal viewing then there is something wrong :/

well I decided to replace the screen...it seemed to get worse the more I used it....

So I needed the screen by this weekend and asked if they would be able to ship out a new screen and put a hold on my credit card for the amount until I send the other one back...

I';m really nervous that I'm going to have two screens or one screen and never get a refund...

    lets hope for the best...

viewing angle with only 15 up is for 10.4, not the 8.
