Yesterday I recieved my 10.4" LCD, and I must say, this thing is HUGE. I'm going to have to remeasure to make sure I have enough space where I plan to put it, as I'm not modding it any. I also got the euro power cable, but I found a HP printer power cable that fit the brick. I must say, this screen looks pretty darn good. I didn't get to take it outside when it was still super-bright out, but when I brought it into the evening sun, it didn't look half bad. I could still easily read the text for the icons on my desktop. The power connector in the case seems a little flimsy, so I taped the power cable to the back of the case as a temporary strain relief. The touchscreen connector is a USB-A connector, so it needs a USBA to USBA cable, something that's not quite common. I downloaded the latest touchkit drivers and did a 25 point calibration. Touchscreen works well. I'll get some pics of it tonight when I get home.

    12.1 Ordered

Wanting to be a little more mobile with my lcd, I've decided to get the 12.1" version w/tuner of the Shark LCD. Mainly to use:

    - in vehicle
    - as a TV next to pc
    - as the LAN Party server monitor
    - on Trips with my GP2X (waiting on a pandora)
    - remote web cam monitor
    - in front of eliptical (heh)
    - etc...

Due to the tuner and size I'm curious on how heavy this thing will be. I'll post some pics/impression once I get the monitor setup. (due to arrive at end of month)

I am trying to find about the measurements on the 8" screen.

I found out this on this topic:

    6 1/2 H, 1 1/8 W, 1 1/4 D

Is that with the case? Anyone has the measurements of the LCD only?

Trying to figure it out if it will fit my VW Polo 2DIN space.

    Thx!

Hi . I'm Bill, the LCD & PCB sale engineer from Evertron China.

After learnt your message, i think some guys are sourcing some medium size TFT (analog & digital), i think i can help you .
i mainly do those brand TFT LCD: Truly and Chimei.

At present, we have good priority for Chimei TFT LCD , the size from 3.5" ~10.4".
AUO brand is top insufficient , other famous brand as Sumsung, Sharp etc i think all of you know the unit price is top high.

To be frank, as per my experience, i 'd like to promote Truly brand. (Truly is a biggest LCD mfg in China, most products are good design method(use one controller), they will help customer save many cost.

Of all above, if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

What are some mounting options for this monitor?

I'm looking for a base that I could bolt on to a table.

If you want to mount it as a security measure, it doesn't come with any provisions for that. However, the base does have 2 screw holes in it that are about perfect to run a couple of drywall screws through.

Are you talking about the Shark 10.4" screen (this thread has seemed to almost venture off into all general screens lol.) If so the screen comes with a small stand that should do the trick for what you want. In this post GREAT DEAL: 10.4" Touchscreen - Samsung LCD $215! you can see the stand that comes with the screen in the 3rd picture down. Its adjustable up and down by about 3"-4" and adjustable angle wise as well. Hope this helps.

I'm looking for something that but with a smaller mounting base. There isn't a lot of mounts for monitor with 1/4 slide mount type.
