yea the 4:3 is supported by all OEM videocards or intergrated graphics... most people use the 800x600 resolution(4:3)...the problem is with the 16:9 and 15:9 aspect ratio's. It's not that the video cards don't support the aspect ratio, it's that they don't support it at a low resolution that we would need for our small monitors.

I do have a 10.4 monitor that i bought from gooddeals. I would not recomend it. I have had a problem with the touch screen since i got it. Gooddeals have ignored over 5 emails and multiple phone calls to which i have left messages asking for them to call me back(as you can never call and get someone on the phone). Yea it's a decent deal if it works... if it doesn't your screwed.

On the contrary, I had to call once, they picked up right away and got me taken care of. Granted, I had to call because they sent me something that was broken and wasn't the right item anyway.

Ya ive read throught this thread and I hear that there customer service is awful but as long as I get a cheap monitor then im good. Or so I think, im still trying to make up my mind on a 8.4 inch for the truck.

Now most VGA touch screen is 7 inch, 8 inch, 10.4inch and 12.1 inch. 8 inch also support 800 x 600, but 10.4 and 12.1 inch is better and eye is comfortable.

I'm not sure if it helps or not but I see Gooddeals sells on Amazon. I don't know if you would have better luck going that route or not.

I have had my 10.4" from Gooddeals for years now and it still works great. I emailed their tech support once and they got back with me right away. Have you tried to do the full calibration thing for the touchscreen? I had to do that to get mine working correctly..

yes i have... tried everything but taking it apart and seeinngg if the touch screen is physically being pinched. i will check it out some other time for that.... I'm waiting to see what comes out at CES next week. Then ill decide what is worth my time.

I saw that HP is already offering the 16gb SSD for only $25 more than the 8gb SSD upgrade for their laptops, so hopefully prices are going to fall on them soon.

So I dont mean for this to sound dumb, but when we order these screens, do we need to also order that 4 wire resistive usb touch thing that someone like 6 post before mine had a link to?

Or do all touchscreens come with everything for it to be a touchscreen?
