Is anyone running the power for the screen directly off of the battery? I have my screen powered through the carpc power supply just in case this screen is like the lilliputs and doesn't like the variable car voltages. So far it seems to be working well.

I ran my 7" screen straight off of the battery for about 5 months - did not notice any problems, but switched to a M2ATX since(7+ months)

How are you guys wiring this to the M2ATX? Did you cut the car plug or just solder some wire to the jack and then to a molex on the the power supply?

I am using the M2 as a second power supply in the dash for the TV, USB DVD, and plans for powered USB hub - so probably a bit different............... but I used the 12V from the P4 connector(J2 on the M2 ATX) - connector removed

I spliced a cigar lighter socket into the 12 volt line of a male molex connection. So all of the screen pieces are still original. Works out well

Or do all touchscreens come with everything for it to be a touchscreen?
    TexasAggie,

Mine came with everything I needed. Just had to install the software on the computer.

Not sure about the Lilliput but this screen automatically comes on when it detects a source such as the pc. If the source is turned off then the screen goes off.

ah thats what i wanted to know, because the lilliput you had to put in a code and change the input for it to be automatic. Im hoping to get my garage cleaned wed and hopefully start working on this on thursday.
