    Id-75

Anyone know how to power up this ID-75 Touchscreen monitor or any other monitor needing 12V @ 1amp in a vehicle. This LCD won't run off an inverter for some reason...I think it needs a true sine wave and the tripp lite 300W inverter produces a modified sine wave. Any suggestions on how to tap into the computer's power supply(which I think the large molex's are 12V @ 1 amp) for an alternative source. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Nate

Look at the massworks.com forum. I remember a thread mentioning this, but don't remember what the outcome was.

I've talked on that forum for months, and came up with no solution...they pointed me to this forum.

If it really runs at 12VDC at 1a, then just go to Radio Shack and pick up a heavy duty DC power supply. It should have a cigarette lighter plug on one end, a box in the middle with a switch to select the voltage, and a lead with universal coax connectors to attach to your ID-75.

Thank you, that is the best information I've heard in a long time!
