    5' tft with RGB inputs

    Hi,

Yesterday I got this screen on http://www.amtex.com.au/display_pdf/P15.pdf from a friend of mine.

    It's a 300nit with RGB Inputs..
Does this mean I can connect any vid.card with RGB outputs ?
Or does the sync has some limits ?

    TIA
    Greetz,

    EDIT##########

Since the controller card has 5 bnc inputs, could I use something like this ?

it's from this page http://www.hut.fi/Misc/Electronics/c.../vga2rgbs.html which describes how to convert vga to rgb

You've got two basic types of RGB interfaces. The first, RGB, uses 3 wires- Red, Green, Blue. It combines the horizontal and vertical sync on the green wire. If the controller is this type, then you would have to get a sync combiner to put convert the VGA signal to RGB. These can cost some serious cash.

RGBHV, or the higher quality of the two, uses 5 wires. It has the standard Red, Green, and Blue, but also uses a (usually) white and yellow cable for sending isolated horizontal and vertical signals. If your controller has 5 inputs, then I would assume it is RGBHV, but I can't be sure without seeing it and looking through documentation. If it is, then you can use that schmatic or a cheap adapter cable.

It's about $20. It's very well fabricated and provides noise suppression. I've used them before and they're well worth the investment. Probably too much information... Oh well.

    Hi,

    Thanks for the input,
I suppose it's RGBHV, because it has these 5 bnc inputs, Red, Green, Blue, Horizontal and vertical Sync. So I think I go that way

I just wanted to know if there are some limitations the display can't handle.

But I get myself a good cable, and call it a day..

    Greetz.

a quick tip about those BNC cables... be careful with the bnc connectors and the single wires... they dont have any sort of strain relief.

    (Ive gone thru plenty)
