    lcd waves

ok anyone got a idea why and or how to stop my lcd screen from getting a slow wave on the screen it does not distort anything just the whole image slides around a bit in a wave mostly when the motor is running is it maybe a bad rca video cable causing a crappy signal or letting in noise? for now my puter is powered from a 350 inverter the inverter and the lcd pull power from a multi fused distribution block i did have some issues with ac hum until i redid the grounds on the inverter but i still have the lcd wave

<sorry to those who are bugged by my lack of punctuation>

I might be wrong, but I have experienced this problem too in my home-setup..

You say you re-did your grounds..
Is everything (and I mean everything which has something to do with your carputer) grounded to the same spot ?

In my home I would probably not having problems with ground, but I still had the same problem you have..

So we want to be sure it isn't the ground.. so eliminate that by grounding everything to the same spot..

Must be something on the rca wire then...
My problem was that the ground shorted with the signal cable.. (not very much.. just one 'straw' out off the ground barely touched the signal.. but this 'wave' you're talking about was visible on my screen)
Fixing the cable solved this problem..
but.. then I disconnected the ground from the signal.. (just one wire.. the signal) and the screen got much clearer ???!?

Same thing with Audio in my car..
My Blaupunkt HU has this input on the back... it's in a connector and I searched the web for the pinouts..
Once I found them it was easy to create these inputs..
It used 3 pins.. Ground, L-signal and R-Signal....
When I had the ground connected I heard a light buzz through my speakers.. I now have disconnected this ground and the sound is much cleaner.. (only the signal wires are connected!)
So I suppose the whole system is now using the car as ground..
    hehheheehe..
    but I don't mind..
Sounded much better than with the ground connected..

    Sorry..
    A lot of talking..
but you might get some hints were to look for your problem...

    Good Luck !
