    here's my deal....

    I havea sony pcg505 ...

Is there any way i can detach the LCD, make some kind of longer video cable to hide the -computer- part...???
that way i can have an LCD 'in dash' ...but for real its still a laptop with a longer video cable.

    know what i mean?

I have 0 money, and would like to have some sorta setup in my ride. i figured what the hell....i'll **** with my laptop.

    any suggestions?
    Thank in advance!

I believe most of these are connected by a ribbon type of cable . I think the best thing to do, if you feel up to it, is take it apart and see how the signal is transferred.

Your best option is to remove the laptop mainboard and mount it directly behind the screen in the dash. That way, nothing has to be extended.

    that is so true.

i just hope i have enough room behind there to do it.

thanks for the tip...that totally crossed my mind.

the main reason i wanted the cable deal was so i could still use the keypad and mouse....know what i mean? instead of having aftermarket stuff.

the longer the cable, the dimmer the picture! Take it apart, and mount to the back of the screen! I have seen th hinges taken off, and the whole system sandwiched together...back of the screen to the botom!
