I received my Xenarc 700TSV today... will make sure I take lots of pictures during this upgrade for all to see.

So this screen is directly viewable in sunlight with this stuff? For free? Nice!
What about contrast? On the transflective screens I thought the contrast gets turned way up and images look screwy sometimes?
And the film is applied to the back of the actual LCD glass panel correct? So you have to remove the backlight of course but then between the backlight and the glass back?
I've never really opened up the backlight/lcd part of the screen before, so Im not really sure what to expect.
Also I believe there is a better anti-glare touchscreen overlay pressed onto the screen in the mp3car translfective upgrade. So that probably adds some cost there too.
EDIT: How about the viewing angle as well?

3m film came today, waiting to see the results on the 700TSV with the guide. That will force me to order an LCD (either non-transflective or transflective, depending on if I think I will screw up a $300LCD)
They also have anti-glare films too. Maybe if one would get one of those for the front of the LCD it would pretty much be the transflective if 2k1toaster is right.
The upgrades actually replace the touchscreen from what I believe. So there will always be some sort of quality difference.
Can we get a definitive answer on exactly what to order, what pitch/angle etc? I would love to try this out and see how it works.

this vikuiti film has been out for awhile now. I tried to order some samples a couple of months ago. But was denied. It good to hear that someone got their hands on some and actually got them installed. I will definitely try to order the films again.
