new to this
hello all. bare with me i am new to this site and car pc 'ing. i have old motherboard and the goodies to go with it and also a Clarion VMA6491 6.4 inch lcd screen. i want to start small and cheap at first and go from there. i set up the computer and loaded win xp pro. now i am hooking the monitor to a cable (vga to composite and s-video out) and powered up the monitor but the screen dosen't show the boot screen, but when windows loads the screen is just black and white blurs on it. is there a way to use this monitor(adapter or device) or am i wasting my time with this. oh the monitor only has a composite in and 12 volt in. on the bottom of it. any help would be much welcome. thanks marcus.

Variable Bitrate
sorry but there is just now way to use that lcd for a car computer project.
even when setting windows to 800 by 600, you won't be able to read or see anything on there.
you need a VGA monitor. lilliput seems to be good bang for your buck.
i recommend the 629 or 619. they have hitachi lcd panels and are well under 240 with warranty
do some searches and see what other people are using.
