The experience went well... it works great!

The screen is sharp and the touchscreen functions well as long as you calibrate it.

Looking for more reviews. How does the brightness/daylight-readability compare to the normal Lilliput/Xenarc/LinITX screens? Does the touch-screen ever drift (my old Dynetix 8.2" would often click an inch above my finger and then drag down to my finger)?

The only reason I am considering the VM70 is that it is the smallest width (7.05" rather than 7.45" on the Xenarc 700TSV which is the 2nd smallest). I need to install the screen in a trapezoid that is 5" tall, 7" across the bottom, and 8" across the top.

I have not used a Lilliput/Xenarc or LinITX so i cannot vouch for that.

I have mine installed into the cubby of my 2004 accord lx so theres no glares at the moment unless sunlight is directly hitting it.

The touchscreen does not drift as long as it is calibrated correctly.(calibration software is included)

Bumping into a old thread but i am having issues with vm70.

It has a wire out for auto switching to reverse camera but the wire is not connected inside the case, i was struggling with it till i opened and saw inside.
Can somebody help me with which pin to connect it to?

i was told by the short-circuit support guy that the blue wire out is for auto switching to av2, unfortunately its left disconnected from inside the lcd case. if you know which pin is in to be used then we can connect this wire to the connector

did the support guy not know which pin it was to connect to. ask them. or if you know how to contackk themm lett me know so I can bug them about it too, maybe that way someone will give us an answer. also what if you just plug it in and test it. how many pins are avalable, and would it mess anything up if you test them all out?

    "Hello,

The blue wire allows for automatic switching of your monitor to AV2 mode. It will automatically switch to it when connected to a 12V power source. This is useful if you have a rear view camera connected to your car. The monitor will still function fine if the blue wire is not used.

    - Carl"

    "
Sorry, it looks like some models do not have the switching functionality after all. I'm not sure why the manufacturer put the blue wire in there. Maybe they just left it there.

    - Regards,
    - Carl"

This is the reply i got for me asking why is the blue wire given and why is it not switching when i power it.
You can contact them and try to get more information. i was told they never advertised the auto switching function in short-circuit.com so they dont need to support my query.
    Mail Carl Limsico
<limsico@short-circuit.com> and check out if something comes out. do let me also know.
I didnt want to try giving 12v to the rest of the not connected pin and try it. mostly should work but first have to know the pin, dont want to damage by doing up the wrong pin.

I dont remember exactly but 3 to 4 pins are left open in the control board. even if you could find out weather the same control board is used in other display which has auto switching then opening them will get the answer.

    "Hello,

Sorry, the VM70 does not have the auto switch function. But yes, the blue wire is for the auto switching, but it is not used.

"So even if I was to hook it up inside to one of the pins, there is no actual pin that would work as an auto switch pin. The conection to the board doesn't exist, or it just isn't made from factory.

What im asking is that if I was to open up the screen and plug the blue wire into the conections could I make it auto-switch. Iss it physicaly posible"

    "Hello,

The manufacturer told us that this functionality was not built in to this model.

so the model doesn't not have the auto switching feature. im sure there is a way to make it do it, but it probably needs relays and stuff and its more complicated than i want. but he told me that the actual feature is not built into the VM70 so it cannot be used from factory.

Anybody get the touchscreen to work with Win 7? I can't even use my mouse any more it's stuck up in the upper left hand corner of the screen....WTF??

If I unplug the usb connector for the TS I get control of my mouse again. I downloaded the vista drivers for the TS since thats all they have on their site. Anyone have any idea why this is happening?

    Thanks TJ
