    liliput displays with flickering lines

    Hi all,

My liliput has always displayd with flickering lines (slightly) but it's fairly noticeable now.
Are there any causes of this?
    not enough power etc?

using the standard pin output from a motherboard and converting it to the 15pins required for the liliput.

    cheers,

    Nav

could be interference coming through the vga cable. could also be that it needs better grounding (which was my case). I also had some flickering lines on mine once it was installed into the car. Running another ground line from the barrel connector resolved it.

hmm it could well be the ground.. its a very thin ground..but i woulda thought its current draw isnt too much and if it works fine it works fine?
ill try another ground as suggested.
dont know how to fix vga interference though..any tips? have no power cables running on that side etc.

no clue on the vga interference, sorry. If there was some sort of 'jacket' you could run the vga cable through I'd get that, but I think most vga cables are somewhat shielded (to what degree I have no idea though) to begin with.
Maybe try and add ferrite cores on the power and signal lines coming into the lcd? Dunno if those ACTUALLY work or it's more like snake oil. I have some cables which have them built in, but then again, I've tried adding them and got little to no success for improvements in noise. - I'm no expert on that stuff so I'll let someone else cover it

I had a similar problem with my liliput indash screen, in the end the only way I could remove the interference (from the VGA cable) was to put a cable grounding the VGA port of my PC to the cars ground (I used a Ring connector which I put onto the metal binding / screw post that is on either side of the VGA port)

I also noticed interference caused by the liliput connector that joins the screen onto the longer breakout lead for VGA and USB, try loosening/ tightening / wiggling this as I could produce lines by overtightening and moving the round multipin connector.
