I may have missed something, but he/she never says what brand or model number the LCD is. This means that it is going to be hard to tell what else you will need. You will most likely have to purchase a controller (~$200-300) and possible an inverter. CHeck out the manufacturer and model then post again.

so basically, i would be better off buying one with the controller and inverter? inverters seem to be cheap, and the only controller i found, was $329...but for $399 i can get a 12.1 with everything even a tv tuner and speakers...that seems like a better route. thank you for your help GuruGod.

yeah, inverters arnt too expensive, but its the controllers that will bite you in the ***. The problem is that 5.6-10.4" screeens arnt made in the numbers they make 14.1 and 15.0" screens. Means more expensive. If you want to go that big, its prolly better to just buy a retial 14.1 for $200
