need assistance with 4 pin cable on eby701

there is a 4 pin connector that i can not seem to get seperated. it has 4 wires from the board to the moniter. but to the monitor at the connector, it goes to a ribbon cable. when i try pulling on it in attemp to seperate it, the pins start coming out of the connectors. i do not want to pull on this too hard. any suggestions, advice, help?

heres a picture. sorry about the crappy focus. its a cell picture.

That should easily separate... it should come apart as two black pieces, one with pins sticking out (male) and other with holes... It comes off of the backlighting easily as it is only attached with double sided tape, so grab the thing by the black pieces with both hands and pull firmly but smooth... it should separate fine.

    Good luck.
